Baazigar (1993) | Shah Rukh Khan played the role of an antagonist in ‘Baazigar’ trying to avenge the fall of his family. He featured opposite Kajol in this crime thriller. Darr (1993) | Another memorable anti-hero performance of Shah Rukh Khan was seen in ‘Darr’. Directed by Yash Chopra, the film narrates the tale of a stalker Rahul (SRK), who is obsessed with Kiran (Juhi Chawla). Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994) | Shah Rukh Khan and Suchitra Krishnamoorthi’s pairing came as a breath of fresh air to the audience. DDLJ (1995) | Shah Rukh Khan swept us off our feet with his portrayal of Rahul — a romantic, laced with a humorous yet righteous side in ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’. Rahul falls for Simran (Kajol) but must win the heart of Simran’s father to approve their love. Kuch Kuch Hota Hain (1998) | The Karan Johar-directed film spoke volumes about love and friendship. Shah Rukh Khan as the humorous, quirky and charismatic Rahul made us go weak on the knees. Dil Toh Pagal Hain (1997) | Another Yash Chopra masterpiece, this movie centred around a love triangle between Shah Rukh Khan’s Rahul, Karisma Kapoor’s Nisha and Madhuri Dixit’s Pooja. The foot-tapping songs ‘Are Re Are’ and ‘Koi Ladki Hain’ still rule the hearts of the viewers. (Image X)

Chak De! India (2007) | Shah Rukh Khan made us cry a pool of tears in this emotional sports drama. He played the role of an ex-Indian hockey player Kabir Khan who trains a group of women playing for the women’s national hockey team. Swades (2004) | This musical drama was a little different from the films Shah Rukh Khan usually partook in at that time. Don (2006) | This film, released in 2006, is a remake of the same-titled 1978 film starring Amitabh Bachchan. SRK plays Vijay Pal, who is a doppelganger of Don, the criminal mastermind.
