Initial reports indicate that the attack occurred near the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) during the bustling Sunday market. Local media outlet Greater Kashmir reported that the grenade was thrown outside the TRC playground, which was filled with shoppers. The Sunday Market is a weekly event held along the road near TRC in Lal Chowk, a busy area in Srinagar.
There have been no reports of fatalities from this incident. This attack follows the elimination of a high-ranking commander from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) by security forces just a day prior in the Khanyar area of downtown Srinagar.
According to PTI, police and paramilitary forces arrived on the scene to evacuate the injured and initiate a search operation for the assailants. The explosion created chaos in the area, causing shoppers to flee for safety.
