JSW Energy announced that its subsidiary, JSW Neo Energy, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from NTPC for a 300 MW wind-solar hybrid power project. This new project raises JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity to 16.7 GW, which includes 2.6 GW in hybrid capacity. The company aims to enhance its energy solutions and progress towards becoming a leading energy products and services provider. JSW Energy’s portfolio comprises 7.5 GW operational, 2.3 GW under construction across various energy sectors, and a renewable energy pipeline of 6.9 GW. Additionally, the company holds 4.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects.
In a separate development, JSW Renew Energy Twenty Ltd has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company for a 300 MW solar capacity, awarded by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development. The PPA, with a tariff of US$ 0.034 (Rs. 2.89)/KWh is effective until FY44, and the project, located in Pavagada Solar Park, Karnataka, is expected to be commissioned within 18 months. JSW Energy’s current solar pipeline capacity stands at 3.2 GW, with PPAs for 1.3 GW. The company aims to reach 20 GW in generation capacity and 40 GWh in energy storage by 2030 and targets carbon neutrality by 2050.
