Under the contract, the Chandigarh-based company has to supply SI-certified galvanized mild steel (GMS) tubes for 95% of the sizes, amounting to 35,473 MT of the total order, the company said in an exchange filing.
“This achievement highlights JTL’s commitment to supporting vital infrastructure projects and contributing to the nation’s development,” it said.
The Jal Jeevan Mission is a scheme envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India.
As of August 2024, nearly 15.07 crore rural households have been connected, achieving a coverage of approximately 78%. The mission emphasises community-led planning, sustainability, and technological solutions for monitoring.
JTL Industries, which specialises in producing ERW black pipes, pregalvanised and galvanized steel pipes, among others, has manufacturing facilities in Punjab, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh. The cumulative capacity of the company is about 6.9 MTPA for pipe manufacturing and ~3,00,000 MTPA is backward integration.
Last month, JTL announced that it will split one of its equity share of face value ₹2, into two equity shares with a face value of ₹1 each.
Shares of the company ended 3.9% higher at ₹207.30 on Wednesday.
