During the 9th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi emphasized the collective ambition of all Indians to transform India into a developed nation by 2047. He highlighted states’ crucial role in this mission, given their direct connection with the populace. He called for collaborative governance between the Centre and state governments to enhance the quality of life for both rural and urban communities, stressing the importance of effective government intervention mechanisms.
The meeting also aimed to promote participative governance and discuss the implementation of recommendations from the 3rd National Conference of Chief Secretaries held in December. The NITI Aayog council comprises all state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and several Union ministers, with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi as its chairman. Through these discussions, the council seeks to strengthen the delivery of government services and foster cooperation among various levels of government.
