India-Austria friendship to get stronger in times to come: Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi emphasized the strength of the India-Austria friendship, anticipating it will grow stronger. He arrived in Austria from Moscow for a two-day visit, the first by an Indian prime minister in over 40 years. Welcomed by Austrian Foreign Minister Mr. Alexander Schallenberg, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi met Austrian Chancellor Mr. Karl Nehammer for a private engagement. MEA Spokesperson Mr. Randhir Jaiswal highlighted the milestone, stating that discussions would focus on realizing the full potential of the bilateral partnership.

During the visit, the two countries will explore ways to deepen their relationship and enhance cooperation on geopolitical challenges. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi mentioned on social media that the visit is special, with nations connected by shared values and a commitment to a better planet. MEA spokesperson noted that as the countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, this visit will add momentum to India-Austria ties. He was welcomed with a rendition of Vande Mataram by Austrian artists led by Mr. Vijay Upadhyaya, which he appreciated on social media. He will also meet the President of Austria, Mr. Alexander Van der Bellen, and talk with Mr. Nehammer. They will address business leaders from both countries, emphasizing that shared values of democracy, freedom, and the rule of law will build an ever-closer partnership.
