Nikhil Kamath’s WTFFund offers ₹10 lakh grants for Bengaluru’s innovators — here’s how to apply

Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, has extended a call to the citizens of Bengaluru, urging them to step up and shape the future of the city. In a post on LinkedIn, he expressed his deep appreciation for the city that has played a pivotal role in his success:

“Bangalore has given me everything I have. This city, with all its challenges, has a unique resilience. I trust that Bangaloreans, especially those brainstorming in cafés and late-night workspaces, can find solutions to anything. We need more changemakers to step up and shape Bengaluru’s future.”

This message serves as the backdrop for the Namma Bengaluru Challenge, an initiative launched by WTFund, founded by Kamath, in collaboration with the UnboxingBLR Foundation, a Bengaluru-centric not-for-profit. The challenge seeks to identify and reward sustainable, innovative solutions to Bengaluru’s urban challenges. It is set to award 10 lakh each to five selected entrepreneurs, startups, or community organisations that are developing solutions with the potential to make a lasting impact.

Malini Goyal, CEO and co-founder of UnboxingBLR, shared that the challenge is a way for them to give back to the city that has been a constant source of inspiration. “This challenge is about encouraging groundbreaking solutions that will have lasting benefits for our communities, and we’re eager to see the ideas that emerge,” she said.
