Sony Pictures Network India has appointed Sibaji Biswas as its Chief Financial Officer, with his term beginning in January 2025.
Biswas recently stepped down as CFO of Syngene International, with his tenure set to end on November 30, 2024, following his resignation on October 24.
In an exclusive conversation with ETCFO after the announcement of his resignation from Syngene, Biswas expressed his intent to transition thoughtfully, opting to join an industry outside of biotech as he leaves Syngene.
CFO Sibaji Biswas highlights the urgent need for supply chain diversification, noting that 25-30% of clients seek local alternatives to China, even at higher costs, as reliance becomes counterproductive.
Biswas brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as Executive Director & CFO at Syngene International for five years. Previously, he held several finance positions over an 11-year tenure with Vodafone and also worked at Hutchison Telecom International Limited.An IIT Kharagpur alumnus, Biswas has also completed executive programs at the London Business School and IIM Ahmedabad.
