Ramaiah Evolute (RE) on Thursday held the Ramaiah Evolute Start-up Awards 2024 on the Ramaiah Institute of Technology campus.
RE, once a year, invests up to $1 million in pre-seed and seed funding across 10 start-ups from diverse sectors, focusing on deep tech, sustainability, and scalable impact.
Prashanth Prakash, founding partner, Accel India, who distributed the awards, congratulated the selected start-up founders, and stated that by 2025, 25 to 30 start-ups in India are expected to go public through IPOPs.
Samartha Nagabhusanam, co-founder of Ramaiah Evolute, said India’s start-up ecosystem is poised to create over $1 trillion in global value by 2030. With advancements in deep tech, AI, and sustainability driven innovation, Indian entrepreneurs are not just solving local problems, but redefining global standards. “We are witnessing a monumental shift where start-ups from India will lead in areas such as quantum computing, climate tech, and financial inclusion”.
Trustee of Gokul Education Foundation M.R. Kodandaram Ramaiah urged young entrepreneurs to dream big and stay resilient. Citing Bill Gates’ vision of a personal computer in every house, he stressed that determination turns dreams into reality. He reminded entrepreneurs that the early phase is challenging, but patience and focus are key. “Stay innovative, spend wisely, and never give up,” he said.
