New anganwadi opened in Hoige Bazar

D. Vedavyas Kamath, Mangaluru City South MLA, on Thursday inaugurated the St. Arsula anganwadi in Patel compound of Hoige Bazar. The anganwadi in Port ward of Mangaluru City Corporation was constructed at a cost of ₹16.5 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kamat said the new anganwadi meets the long-standing demand of residents. The anganwadi was constructed out of special grants released by the BJP government. Several legal obstacles were tackled to get the land on which the anganwadi has now come up, he said.

Mayor Manoj Kumar, local councillor Abdul Lateef, MLC Ivan D’Souza, and Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Usman were present.
