
A team of students and young professionals from UP arrived at SPA, Vijayawada, as part of a youth exchange programme under the Centres Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative.

A team of 44 students and young professionals (Yuva Sangham), drawn from various educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh, has arrived at the School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada, as part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiative of the Union Ministry of Education. The youth exchange programme aims to foster unity in diversity, cultural exchange and experiential learning among the youth across the country.
The visit marks the 5th phase of ‘Yuva Sangham’ wherein Andhra Pradesh is paired with Uttar Pradesh. SPA, Vijayawada and IIIT-Allahabad are the nodal institutes for implementation of the Central initiative.
A statement from SPA said that IIIT-Allahabad shortlisted 44 students from a total of 3,073 applicants for the programme. The inaugural session of a five-day visit, held at SPA on Friday (December 20) was attended by Deputy Director, All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Prashant Kharat, Director of SPA Ramesh Srikonda and nodal officer of Yuva Sangham J.M. Bhagwat.
Students participating in the five-day exposure trip were asked to make the best of the opportunity and explore the key areas of Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Tradition), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect) and Prodyogik (Technology).
The organisers plan to take the visitors around beaches and the development projects taking place in Amaravati landscape, facilitate interaction between them and artisans of Kondapalli toys, Pedana Kalamkari and Mangalagiri sarees and provide them insights into Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructural progress and the technological advances the State had achieved.
