Ayodhya Ram Mandir 1st Anniversary 2025: One year of ‘Pran Prathistha’ ceremony for Ram Lalla

The Ayodhya Ram Mandir, dedicated to Lord Ram, is celebrating its first anniversary on Wednesday, January 22. On this day last year, the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony for Ram Lalla was held in Ayodhya.

The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra recently concluded the ‘Pratishtha Dwadashi Mahotsav’, commemorating a year of Ram Lalla’s ‘Pran Pratishtha’.

The celebration was held on Paush Shukla Dwadashi, which falls on January 11, following the alignment of the Hindu calendar. The anniversary celebrations started on January 11 and concluded on January 13.

As per the Gregorian calendar, the Ram Lalla idol was consecrated at the temple on January 22, 2024. Various spiritual events and cultural programmes were organised at the temple premises to commemorate the occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the main rituals of the ceremony at the grand event last year. Ayodhya city has seen a significant footfall of devotees and a surge in the number of tourists since the temple’s inauguration.

The temple is said to be constructed at a cost ranging from ₹1,400 crore to ₹1,800 crore. Designed in the traditional Nagar architectural style, the Ram Mandir is surrounded by small towers called Mukha Mandapa.

The temple has 160 columns on the ground floor, 132 columns on the first floor and 72 columns on the second floor. The key temple at Ayodhya is surrounded by four temples dedicated to the Sun God, Goddess Bhagwati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva.

As per the Hindu Almanac, the Pratishtha Mahotsav, or consecration ceremony, demonstrates the sanctity of the Ram Mandir. The first anniversary of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir is a moment of joy and reflection for millions across the world.
