Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd, part of Aditya Birla Capital, on Monday (January 27) reported a 7.3% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit at ₹224.5 crore for the third quarter that ended December 31, 2024. The company posted a net profit of ₹209.3 crore in same quarter in the previous fiscal.

Revenue from operations surged 30.3% to ₹445.1 crore against ₹341.5 crore a year ago.
At the operating level, EBITDA jumped 41.2% to ₹274.3 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal over ₹194.3 crore in Q3FY24.

The EBITDA margin stood at 61.6% in the reporting quarter versus 61.6% in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.
AB Sun Life AMC reported strong growth in its overall QAAUM (quarterly average assets under management), including alternate assets, which increased by 23% YoY to ₹4 lakh crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2024. The mutual fund segment also saw a 23% YoY growth in QAAUM, reaching ₹3.83 lakh crore.
Equity mutual fund QAAUM grew by 32% YoY to ₹1.79 lakh crore, with the equity mutual fund mix rising from 44% in Q3 FY24 to 47% in Q3 FY25. The individual monthly AAUM increased by 19% YoY to ₹1.97 lakh crore for December 2024, with the individual mix now comprising 52% of the total mutual fund AUM.

Additionally, the B-30 monthly AAUM grew by 24% YoY to ₹69,000 crore, representing 18% of mutual fund AUM. Passive AUM stood at ₹31,600 crore as of December 31, 2024. ABSLAMC serviced 10.5 million folios by the end of December 2024, marking a 31% YoY increase.
Monthly systematic flows, including STP, grew 38% YoY, reaching ₹1,382 crore for December 2024, with 4.35 million accounts. The company also registered around 670,000 new SIPs (including STP) for Q3 FY25, witnessing a remarkable 185% year-on-year growth.
Operating profit for the quarter stood at ₹260 crore, reflecting a 42% YoY increase, driven by strong performance across various segments, particularly in mutual funds and SIP flows.

The results came after the close of the market hours. Shares of Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd ended at ₹643.30, down by ₹63.85, or 9.03%, on the BSE.
