The accused has been identified as Vikas, who allegedly killed Srishti (12) and Vidhi (6) by slitting their throats with a sharp object before attacking their mother and bedridden father. According to officials, his uncle and aunt survived the assault but were hospitalised with serious injuries.
The deceased were the daughters of Chhotelal Gautam, originally from Fatehpur district and a lecturer at Jawahar Smarak Inter College.
Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, the Superintendent of Police, said that Chhote Lal Gautam was at home with his wife Veerangana and two daughters. According to police, he’s been bedridden for a year because of a paralysis attack.
“Around 9 pm, they all had dinner together and they all went to sleep. Sometime between 1:30 and 2 am, Vikas and his associate used sharp weapons to attack the family, killing the two daughters. They also injured Chhotelal Gautam and his wife,” the SP said.
Gautam and his wife were critically injured and were referred to Aligarh Medical College for treatment. According to reports, a family feud is suspected to be the reason behind the murders.
