Missing, broken signboards at bus stands in Tiruchi irk passengers

Passengers and commuters are inconvenienced due to the absence of bus route signboards at several bus stops in Tiruchi. 

A signboard is installed at a bus stop to provide information about the bus numbers and destinations for the passengers. These are either digital or displayed on printed banners at the bus stop. 

However, many passengers complained of the poor condition of the signboards as many lie in a pitiable condition. Several signboards have fallen off or have not been replaced at some bus stops, since. 

These signboards are necessary at important bus routes. say commuters. The effect of a missing signboard is pronounced at Main Guard Gate, where the bus stops are spread over the West Boulevard Road. However, only one signboard exists for the stretch of bus stops along the road.  

“We have to wait a long time for the buses to arrive. In the absence of bus route signboards and their schedule, we do not know how long we’ll have to wait for to catch the next bus,” said S. Sasikala, a commuter from Kattur.  

When contacted by The Hindu, a senior Corporation official said broken signboards at the bus stops would be set right.
